-23 Apr 2007 -- Adobe CS3 Products in Store... Adobe has announced the release of several new products in their Creative Suites 3 line. These new products have been added to our online store. Products include their individual point products as well as new bundle products: Design Standard, Design Premium, Web Standard, and Web Premium. New video production products will be released in June. For a table listing the various bundles and what they contain, click here.

Please note that we have not yet received our shipment of master media for these products (nor the serial numbers). As soon as they arrive, we will get them out to all that order the products. We expect to receive them within the next two to three weeks. We appreciate your patience with this process.

-6 Mar 2007 -- RedHat License Available... We have finalized the agreement for a RedHat Campus-Wide Subscription (Site License). This agreement includes UNLIMITED use of RedHat Servers (WS/ES/AD) on campus owned systems and unlimited use of RedHat Desktop on personally owned systems (including students). The agreement also includes a subscription for RedHat's Satellite Server which will be maintained locally by USU's Information Technology Services.

This agreement is being purchased as a cooperative effort by Central IT Services, Engineering, HPC, Center for Open and Sustainable Learning, and USU Research Foundation. These departments have agreed to pay the cost of the license for (3) years. At that time, there will be a re-evaluation of the usage on campus and the cost for the license will be distributed among all that use it. READ THAT: it is free to the rest of you for (3) years, at that point you will probably be charged for it, but the charge will still be less than it would be to purchase it outright from RedHat. Special thanks to the units that worked together to make this happen.

-16 Oct 2006 -- EndNote License Available... Licensing has negotiated a deal with Thompson Scientific to get Endnote at a significant savings. Retail price is $299 and Educational Discounted price is $199. We were able to get it for $51 per license [NOTE: Thompson changed their agreement and our price changed to $91 as of Jan 2007]. You may place your orders now in our online store and the software will be available within a couple of weeks.

-18 Sept 2006 -- Adobe announces new products... Adobe announced the release of 3 new products. Photoshop Elements 5 (for the Windows platform) and Premiere Elements 3 have both been released. We are still working on getting install CDs and codes for these two products, so it may be a few weeks before they can be installed. Adobe Acrobat 8 has been announced. The ship date is set for November 11, 2006. If you order Acrobat 7 between now and November 11th, you will receive a free upgrade to Acrobat 8 when it is shipping.

-28 Aug 2006 -- We've moved... Our office has moved from the SER building to the Janet Quinney Lawson (JQL) Building. This is the red building across the street from the Education Building. To find our office, enter through the North Entrance. CD pickup is located just inside the front door to your left. If you need to speak with Michelle, she can be found at the top of the stairs.

-08 Mar 2006 -- Corel X3 Products Released... Corel has recently released new versions of WordPerfect and CorelDraw. These products are now listed on our web site. We are still in the process of getting the install media, so it may be a few weeks before we have the install disks.

-15 Feb 2006 -- Macromedia part numbers in... We now have the part numbers and pricing for all of the Macromedia products (now owned by Adobe). There are hundreds of different SKUs, so we have no put them all up on the web. If there is a specific Macromedia product that you would like and it is not listed, please email us and we will get you the pricing info and place it on the web for you to order.

-05 Dec 2005 -- Macromedia now available... As of December 5, 2005, the merger between Macromedia and Adobe is official. We will now be able to purchase Macromedia products through our Adobe License Agreement. I am in the process of getting the prices and SKUs in order to make this happen. As I get them, I will put them up on the web site. It make take a few weeks to get the media and the licensing finalized.

-31 Aug 2005 -- Macromedia bulk purchase... On September 5, 2005 we will be placing a bulk purchase order with Macromedia. They are releasing a new version of their suite on September and their price will increase substantially at that time. We are going to place this order before the price increase. If you would like to get in on this purchase, please place your order prior to Sept 5, 2005. If you don't see the Macromedia product listed that you would like to purchase, please email us with the item and we will add it to the store. I will purchase some additional copies to have in stock and will sell them from the store on a first-come first-served basis. Once the stock items are gone, then you must purchase them on your own (see below).

After this bulk purchase is processed, we will have a contract number with Macromedia with which you can purchase (from your retailer of choice) Macromedia products at a substantial discount. If you have interest in purchasing any Macromedia products that we do not offer on our site, please email us and we can provide you with the contract number.

-01 Jul 2005 -- Novell License no longer centralized... As of July 1, 2005, there will no longer be a centralized site license for the Novell products. Units using the Novell or Suse products will need to either purchase their products individually through Novell or sign up for a departmental site license through Novell. If you need contact info for Novell, please email us and we will send you the info.

-16 May 2005 -- Software Licensing Launches New Web Site... Utah State University office of Software Licensing has launched a new look to our web site. We hope this will make the site easier to navigate and find the products you are looking for. We have also added FAQ and Software Management sections to help assist you.

-01 May 2005 -- Adobe CS2... Adobe has recently released their CS2 products. These include upgrades to the Creative Suites bundle as well as the individual products in the bundle (Photoshop, Illustrator, GoLive, and InDesign). These new versions have been added to our web site.

-11 Mar 2005 -- Free Opera License Acquired... Opera Software has provided Utah State University with a free site license for its software. Opera is a full-featured Web browser that allows you surf the Web, handle your E-mails, and take care of all your browsing needs. This product is available for all University Computers as well as Students, Faculty & Staff for home use. Opera is generally available for a free download, but that version includes advertisements.
